Main Sessions
In contrast to busy lives that too often are marked by anxiety and hurry, Telos Main Sessions are designed to teach, equip and form through peace-filled, unhurried, thorough and Christ-centered reflection on scripture.
Teaching regarding a Telos Core Theme is followed by thoughtfully selected elements of ancient prayers and practices and the celebration of Eucharist. The beauty and power of the Telos experience makes the potential for spiritual transformation a reality. Millions of people over the two thousand year history of the church have had just such edifying experiences with the ancient prayers and practices that at all times and all places have undergirded followership of Jesus.
Finally, each event will close with a time for response and prayer ministry. We believe Jesus brings emotional, spiritual and physical healing to his people. He does this in part to free us to be his cooperative friends and his agents of service and healing. A trained team will be on hand to pray for all who seek it.
Conversational Conversion
In any learning environment, classroom, training room at work, or church sanctuary, we remember much more of what we say than what we hear. This where the old saying comes from: No one learns more than the teacher. Thus conversation is core to learning that leads to life-change, to conversion. Commonly referred to as breakouts or workshops, at Telos events, we have what we call Ten Minute Meetings (TMMs). TMMs happen at various points throughout a Telos event.
Open Conversation and Shared Meal One-day and two-day (but not half-day) Telos events include a shared meal where participants engage in discussion with teams from their church or with new friends. This group meal is meant to engage the core topics of discipleship and evangelism within the context of current cultural realities.
Working Meal with Servant Leadership Institute
One-day and two-day (but not half-day) Telos events include a shared meal with a leader from The Servant Leadership Institute. SLI exists to aid leaders in every aspect of human workplaces—business, health, schools, service and non-profit, etc, and their employees— toward a life-enriching and profitable work paradigm. While maximizing profit and execution against vision will always remain a primary focus of private enterprise, SLI provides a paradigm-shifting “for the sake of others” approach—making the “secular” job a primary tool for making a positive difference in the world.
